The Sauce, The Boss


  • 28oz Can Crushed Tomatoes with Tomato Puree
  • 5 tablespoons butter
  • 1 half onion – peeled
  • 3-4 cloves of garlic – peeled
  • Pinch (or two) of salt


  • Combine tomatoes, butter, garlic, onion, and salt into a saucepan.
  • Cook over medium heat for 45 minuted to one hour.
  • Remove onion and garlic before spooning sauce onto pizza.

Note: This is just a spin on Marcella Hazan’s Tomato Sauce Recipe. I take no credit for it, I only added garlic. 🙂
